AB x Sheen Series
My first ever collaboration was with Sheen, a jewelry brand that stocks its stunning designs at Sauce Rocks. This gave me an opportunity to create 4 different looks all inspired by the versatility and beauty of Sheen’s jewelry and here is the third one!
With the weather getting better and better, afternoons in Dubai are now so perfect and pleasant. We can finally wear anything and not drown in sweat!
In the day, I usually opt for light and airy dresses that make me look super chic without much effort. With ruffles being the most popular 2017 trend, I have been lusting over any cute ruffle dresses that I find because they look so feminine and pretty.
When I saw this Rheson dress during my trip to Mumbai, I knew I had to have it. It checked all the boxes: striped, cold-shoulder, ruffles and SUPER comfy! I could have styled this cute dress in numerous ways; for a winter look, you can always add a fur jacket and boots and for a brunch look, you could wear it with wedges and a panama hat.
However, I decided to wear it ‘Jumeirah Jane‘ style! Now for those of you who don’t know about this term, it actually dates back to the 1980s when a lot of Europeans had settled in Dubai, primarily in Jumeirah. It describes a well-dressed, stylish lady who lunches and then spends her spare time getting her nails done, at the spa or sipping coffee at a luxurious café.
Now, I am no ‘Jumeirah Jane’, but I thought it would be fun to do this look and pair some really stunning, formal earrings on a seemingly casual dress. I kept the rest of the outfit simple; wore my white & gold Aldo sandals and carried my graffiti printed bag from Call It Spring to add more color to the simple blue dress. Both these stores are one of my first places to look for cute bags and shoes!
The earrings and ring are from Sheen; all the jewelry is 18K gold with pearls and diamonds. For this casual dress, I chose to be a little extra and wear the diamond & sapphire earrings, the lotus ring and a lace ring stack from their latest collection called ‘Aisha’. This collection is inspired by the designer’s Kashmiri heritage and her grandmother’s vintage jewelry. The motifs in the jewelry I am wearing is very similar to the embroidery made on Kashmiri pashmina shawls. I just love such cultural pieces that have a story behind them, don’t you?
I love how detailed and delicate these jewelry pieces are. These earrings can obviously be worn on a ballgown or a heavier dress to a wedding, but I wanted to show you the versatility of the jewelry with this casual ‘Jumeirah Jane’ look.Hope you enjoyed the way I styled these earrings!
