Fashion Forward Dubai AW17

Fashion Forward is the closest thing that Dubai has to a fashion week, and this year was its 10th edition! Needless to say, I was more than excited to attend it for the first time ever!
Three whole days of fashion shows and seeing amazing fashionistas walk around at Dubai Design District sounded like absolute heaven to a fashion blogger like me and indeed it was. Apart from fashion shows, this year’s Fashion Forward has so many more elements like the pop-up stores, the cinema and even fashion exhibitions by design students.
Since it was my first time attending Fashion Forward Dubai, I wanted to create three different looks that would be perfect for me to show off my style. I have compiled my looks below as well as compiled the designs that I loved from the numerous fashion shows I attended.

Day 1 – Chic Formal

Not knowing what to expect at FFWD, I wanted my first look to be comfortable but stylish enough to make a statement. I decided to wear sailor pants from Banana Republic paired with this really elegant lace-ruffle white top from Lipsy. Since, the whole outfit was with plain colors, I decided to wear my graffiti printed heels from Aldo that I am in love with! I carried my Furla bag to add a pop of color to the outfit (and also because it was big enough to carry my flats for later =P ).

Day 2 – Street Style

After figuring out where everything was at FFWD on Day 1, I was ready to wear higher heels and step up my fashion game. I love the velvet trend that is ongoing, and therefore picked out a royal blue velvet bodysuit from Bershka with a bit of floral embroidery to wear with my comfy jeans. Embracing my inner street style, I wore my burgundy Bershka leather jacket, black Lady Peep Louboutins and Chanel bag to create a bold yet fun look.

Day 3 – Metallic Madness

I saved my best outfit for the last day obviously! I found this metallic bodycon dress at Miss Selfridge and it just fit me so well! Since I hadn’t showcased any of my quirky bags yet, I decided to pair the dress with my stereo bag from Aldo. I wore my black heels, also from Aldo, so as to keep the focus on the dress. I think I got the most love for this outfit and I even got featured on ewmoda for it!

Royaled by RH

This designer surprised me the most! I literally wanted buy all the outfits she created. Her collection is definitely designed for the modern day women. With beautiful fabrics and cuts, her contemporary pieces are so elegant and can be worn any where!

Atelier Zuhra

This designer definitely stole my heart! I mean I want them to make one of my wedding outfits. The collection was all metallic and glamorous to say the least! The color palette ranged from white to silver to gold, but all of it glimmered with beautiful, shiny surface ornamentation and were just stunning.

Hussein Bazaza

Having heard of Bazaza’s designs as very bold and colorful, that is exactly what I saw in this year’s collection. This collection was all about fusion of metallic colors with geometric designs and whacky prints (like a sequined batman skirt). I really loved his unique designs and styles!

Amato Couture

If I had to describe Amato’s couture collection in one word, it would be “DRAMA.” The set itself was full of dark water and stone and in contrast, his collection was all these beautiful, sleek gowns with intricate beading or sequin embroidery inspired by shells and the deep blue sea. I loved his caped gowns and use of tulle that gave the gowns a fairy-tale like feel. His designs are definitely for women who like to defy fashion norms and want to look absolutely extravagant!

Hope you enjoyed the looks I created for myself and my coverage of this year’s Fashion Forward Dubai!
